A visit to Bristol – city of Artist’s Books

A couple of weeks ago, I went to UWE in Bristol to see an exhibition of artist’s books made by a group of women in prison. It was a fascinating display, full of character and life.

While we were there, we also had a look at the permanent Book Arts collection in their library and it was AWESOME! They had filing cabinets FULL of artist’s books and a cosy seating area to sit down and look at them – there must have been hundreds altogether, too many to look at them all.

There were also glass cabinets in the library full of even more artist’s books, which were beautifully displayed. I left feeling very inspired indeed!

Thank you for reading and a big thank you to Sarah, of Sarah Dean Illustration, for the ride!
